Welcome to our FAQ page where you can find information to solve commonly asked questions.
You must always use your BDA Learning account when accessing any of the Course resources and materials - see first section - below.
Some the sections below will expand to show more information.
To ensure that you have access to the BDA resources please use your BDA Learning account. A quick way to check that you are using the BDA account is via your profile (top right on desktops) see images below. If you are using your BDA account your email / username will end with '@bdalearning.org.uk' and your profile will state Managed by bdalearning.org.uk.
If your profile shows a different image or information then you may need to switch this google account to your BDA Learning account. Please see guide 'Sign in to multiple accounts at once' - here
Please see the Account page (menu above) for further details.
When completing your course you will need to access Shared Course documents, templates, guides etc. These shared resources are located on the relevant Shared drive for your Course / Cohort. Please click this link to go to the shared drive folders and choose your appropriate Shared folder. The Handbook etc. will be inside the Course Documents folder.
Please note you will not be able to edit documents on the Shared drives. If you wish to edit / share then please use 'Make a copy' or 'Download', please see instructions below!
If you are assigned a Task / Assignment document to work on via Classroom (ePortfolio) then you will be able to edit the attached / embedded document/s directly without making a copy.
When you submit this/ these document/s for your tutor to mark / grade they will be automatically attached to the submission.
When submitted you lose editing rights as your tutor becomes the owner to grade it. Please don't ask to edit a submitted document, message your tutor to alert them that you have submitted by mistake and need to continue to edit your work.
You cannot submit / upload a document directly from the Shared Drives please see instructions and images below to Copy or Download it first.
By default all documents that are not embedded in your assignment are shared documents that you have read-only access to. For example the 'Letter of Consent', which is on a Shared drive so it can be made available to all. If you need to edit these documents for your work and or make notes etc. you need to either 'Make a copy' this will save a copy of the document to your own BDA google drive and , or 'Download' a version which will download a copy of the document to your device hard drive. Whichever option you choose you will have a version of that document that you can edit and the original shared version will remain untouched.
Please don't request access to edit a document follow the instructions above or below for submitted work / assignment documents
If you want to share a document to your personal / work google account you will need to choose one of the options above as you cannot share directly from a shared drive.

How you submit your work will depend on your Course's delivery so please check your Course Handbook and any information on the Assignment/s on your ePortfolio. Responding to tutor feedback for re-submitting work is consistent so please use the 'Responding to tutor feedback' Quick guide here. January 24 - there is also an activity on your Classroom here.
When your tutor has graded your work and returned it, you will receive an email notification. This email 'Work Returned' will include a link that will take you to your Work area and the details. Your Work area button will automatically change to Resubmit if a resubmission is needed.
Please visit the ePortfolio / Google Classroom Video Guide (at 1:35)to see this in action.
If you have any issues managing your modules on coassemble please try these solutions first.
Use the Filter, sort and search on the module tabs, if you:
Have too many modules showing then use the appropriate module tabs.
You can select specific course types using Folders.
Please select a folder to show only the modules that you currently need e.g. Guides or Level 5 or Level 7 etc.
Only want to see one module - try search e.g. 'module 1' will only show 'Module 1'
Want to show only modules based on the progress status use one of the following: To Do | In Progress | Complete
Want to Sort your modules, please use the Sort drop down and select the appropriate sort option e.g. 'Recently viewed'.
Want to Star / Favourite modules, to identify the one that you are currently working on. To do this hover (touch) the module and when the overview opens click on the star icon.
Don't have any modules on your dashboard, check that you have not set the options to filter out all modules e.g. added a misspelt search such as tasks 1, using a plural when the module title is singular task 1.
Further information and instructions are available on the 'Welcome to eLearning Materials' (in Guides folder) in the 'Getting around - Dashboard' screen.
